Well, I know you just posted about not being rude, but...
Why the hell does this deserve a new post? Find your old post and write this.

I had toast for breakfast, but all that was left were the two ends of the loaf. I burned the toast because my toaster is set for a regular piece of bread, not these half pieces.

Only the roadies forum rivals this one in ignorant, uncalled for comments.
A new post isn't out of line at all...
You don't have to be super nice, just don't be a complete tool. If this doesn't apply to you, and you show some class on these boards, then don't step to the front of the line to say "wasn't me!"
Just move along.

Why? Waste of bandwidth. No one on this board cares in the slightest that he is thanking them for their advice.
At least, not enough to make a whole new post about.

Okay kids, This here's a situation that irks me, too. For Christ's sake, let's cut eachother a little slack! It's a fine line between being cute and being a cuteass. We all have our witty moments and god knows most of us are cynical. We're a subforum, not a fraternity.
How about this: When you're urging on rudeness, just ask youself, What Would Sheldon Do?

I had the best cookie ever last night. Thanks to Zippered for buying it for me at the ice races.

Last week I asked about riding fixed in a pack and going fast downhill. Got some excellent advice from Hobartelmagne about pulling up to have a smoother spin. Much better this sunday on the same 100 k loop. But i really dislike being called a moron for asking a newbie question here in this subforum. The literacy level of the guy doing the namecalling may excuse him somewhat, but I really see no need to be rude to somebody just in spite. If you have nothing useful to contribute, do not post.
This sub forum gets a little hostile sometimes. I don't know what people think
the forum is for if they don't think knowledge should be shared between those
who know and those who don't know.

So I just re-read the thread you are speaking of and out of all of the total post in that thread (24) only 1 is an insult. That is like a 95.83% rate of non-insults and help. Now you come back here a 6 days later to complain? Does it really bother you that bad that you forgot how to use PM's? You got answers to your questions, you applied some of the techniques others suggested and got better results. Sounds like you are complaining just to complain to me. Oh, and posting your results in the thread you FIRST started would have actually contribited to the community as a whole because you would have been providing the group with actual results and would have made it easy for others to find with the same/similiar questions.

Real advice... buy a set of rollers, warm up on them for five minutes of easy spinning and then try to pedal as fast as you can and maintain for 30 seconds. This helped me a lot for staying "ahead of the spin" on downhills. I keep my chain a little loose so I can feel when I'm getting behind the spin, and when I'm maintaining it. However, apparently it's a little too loose because I bombed a country hill the other day, one of the biggest of my life, and threw the chain. Scary **** indeed, luckily nothing locked up and I handled it fine.
