Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Most of the old crew does seem to have vaporized. I've left several times, but I always end up coming back. That's what chronic boredom will do to a person.
Yeah, you're old school. It sure was friendlier back then.

In my short time here I've notice an increase in the noise over signal--
I try to keep it civil and be helpful--but I tend to lurk this subforum
and post mostly in other subforums.

Dutret may not have been patient but he knew his stuff!

Ceya knows more about tubulars than anyone else here.

I always enjoyed reading Yoshi's posts too.

No thanks.
Since Dutret isn't around any more, I guess I'll never be an old-school guy (even if I agreed to the paddling and tatooing).

I say old school remembers when the kryptonite/bic thing happened or remembers how many times Mayonnaise got banned before he stopped writing amazingly good yet incredibly homophobic essays for us.

Whilst when I joined, this place was a garden ripe full of useful information with the occassional humorist/satirical posting and good-natured ribbing, it has thence become a breeding ground for repetitive meaningless posts, adolescent behavior, punctuated by a dearth of any valuable information.

or remembers when Karstens first put the order in for the Thlyacine then let it sit around for 3 years before building it up.

The road forum corollary would be people who were around when 55/Rad sent his Tete off to paint

Wasn't he skipping out on paying rent by couch surfing with a boyfriend or something? Was he being refered to as Joposh or Josh-po?
