Build is finally done!

After a year of riding around my urban beater

and 5 months of saving money and buying parts...I finally...finally put together my new ride. It rides like a dream and can't get enough of it. Just had to let that out. :D

I don't normally like white whips, but that is a nice ride you've got on your hands there. Good work putting it together. Are those Formula hubs or the IRO hubs?

I like the near white out with the splash of blue.

However, you better get some drive-side pics up soon. It is Valentine's Day and the forum members aren't up for any jokin' around - they need their bike porn or they get cranky, especially on such an amorous day!

You gonna get ripped for not taking pictures of the drive side.

But it is a nice IRO

i like the iro. i usually hate sloping top tubes, but that looks pretty good. concor saddles are sex.

Yeah that white IRO is looking good.

Looks great! I personally don't believe in the 'white is the new black'thing. But as some peep at the fixedgeargallery forum once said about my (lovely and stylish pink) bike: "It's not about the colour, it's about what you do with the colour." Well, you succeeded!

lol @ bar tape pic :)

Nice looking ride. Not sure I'd go with a white saddle personally, but it works(tm).

Which tyres did you go for with the blue? I'm looking at similar for my build... (Rubino's or those Vredestein ones seem to be popular/frequently on sale from what I've noticed).

I dig your urban beater.

Moto74 02-14-08 03:54 PM

Haha...aiight. Drive train pics will be up soon. Thanks everyone for the comments/advice and smart ass bar tape pic...lol.

xylophonecks 02-14-08 04:01 PM

yeah, i'd ride the hell out of both of those bikes.

I have a question about your "urban beater." Do those TT levers pull enough cable for the brakes on that Motobecane? I assume 'yes' but....

That IRO is f*ck*n berries...

jdms mvp 02-14-08 04:04 PM

sell me the concor please.

Moto74 02-14-08 04:25 PM

Yeah, I dig my beater cuz I can go anywhere and not have to worry about messing it up a little. Takes a good beating.

The TT levers work fine on it. The front brake can flip the bike no problem...trust me...haha.

The tires are some CST Pros. Think they're like 20 each. They feel great.

I don't know what it is, but my appreciation for anything that resembles your IRO (I have something similar) is decreasing. I am finding that bikes like your "urban beater" really get it done though. Whatever, now you've got 2 sweet bikes...
