Looking for lugged steel frame?

Anyone know of current manufactures that still make lugged steel track frames, that are relatively in-expensive under 600?

wearyourtruth 02-23-08 03:58 PM

the soma delancey is about 600.

there's also been a lot of talk about the new alien frame, do a search for that, but i don't think it's out yet.

huerro 02-23-08 04:06 PM

Sparton frames seem to be about.

deathhare 02-23-08 04:11 PM

There are those new Kazane or whatever.
Dont know anything about em though.

reedreeder 02-23-08 04:22 PM

kazane.

this is essentially the same thing as the sparton, alien, and spicer cycles frames.

curiousincident 02-23-08 04:28 PM

well, i'd say the sparton is probably a step below in terms of tubing and the prep work they need to be built up. otherwise spot on.

The Bianchi pista is also DB cromo.

They're there, just invisible. If you drop the requirement that it be lugged. There is a LOT of choices out there.

ebawho 02-23-08 06:04 PM

DeBernardi is no more I thought. If that's not the case, YAY! I love my DB, and if it ever breaks/gets run over, I'd love to replace it with a new one.

no, i'm pretty sure they're coming out with an 08 model that's esentially the same as years past.
but anyways, i'm pretty sure those are still around 700 so it wouldn't fit OP's criteria.

thelung 02-24-08 08:59 AM

just buy used

$507 Here: http://www.revolutionbicyclerepair.c...t/Detail?no=63
I e-mailed these guys about the frame last week and haven't heard back. Bike biz says that the 07's are now blue. I don't know if these are available or not.

deathhare 02-24-08 12:50 PM

Anyone know the geometry on the DeBer in the 47cm?

bonechilling 02-24-08 02:10 PM

According to Yellow Jersey, DeBernardi is closed. The 07s were blue, but there will be no 08.

shasta 02-24-08 02:17 PM

The spicer lugged frame is $600 and is supposed to be available soon.
