the messenger has brakes. the kilo is more popular around here.

The Kilo has a better-looking flat-crowned fork, and some people say it has "track geometry," which inexplicably makes it ride faster.

Which for 99% of the people, is slower and more uncomfortable because it's ridden onthe road.

well i am going to be commuting on this bike i get...so should i go with the messenger? It looks the frame is a little more spread out, so maybe less toe overlap?

BatNastard 04-13-08 08:17 PM

Bump
I'd love to hear a real answer to this too, since I'm looking at the same two. My impression is that the Kilo has more aggressive geometry which might make it a rough ride on my city's nasty streets; but is the reynolds tubing and nicer fork worth it? Plus, all the components are the same, but the kilo's are chrome?

BatNastard 04-13-08 09:13 PM

never mind; seems people prefer the kilo mainly for the fork, though it seems like a winner all around. I'll wait for the new shipment!

Very true but I really enjoy my Moto. I chose the Moto over the Kilo because of the brakes and because of the Kilo's geo.

Both seem to come with dodgy parts. I trashed the bar, pedals, clips, straps, cog/lockring, tires and tubes in about a weeks worth of ownership. I'd recommend the same to anyone planning on buying the Moto. Also...the paint chips really easily.

Overall opinion, great intro fixie...not perfect but far from being a Wal-Mart bike.

and I get a lot of compliments from people who don't know what they are talking about.

Old shot from after a couple days of ownership. Bars are taped, b-17, cut that brake cable, and others.
