I hate girlfriends because when you dump them, or when they leave you they take all the cool **** you gave them. I say she has to buy her own damn bike. Seriously.

My suggestion, like a couple others, would be: instead of getting a new bike get a new old lady you don't have to buy crap for. If she wants one, let her buy it.

As for sizing, my girlfriend is 5' 6" with a 30" inseam and I just bought her a 49cm road bike that fits pretty well. Odds are a similar bike would be too large for someone several inches shorter.
