one of the news sites that a link was posted to in this thread had a video from the news station. i had no volume, but there is footage of the police cruiser in the grass, on the wrong side of the road, with a bike pinned underneath.
also apparently the female was preparing for upcoming olympic trials... how awful. they were all pretty young...

What a horrible situation for everyone. My thoughts go out to all involved including the officer.
I don't think he woke up that morning intending to kill two cyclists. I doubt he's laughing it up right now.
Just one of those things that reminds us that regardless of how much we mind our own business, enjoy ourselves and live our lives there is always something that can mess it all up. Tell your families and even your friends that you love them. You never know when *****'ll get turned upside down.

also, the news reporting leaves others feeling less bad about the situation, since, you know, they collided with him and all.
