It might seem as such------but I can tell you that there is no such thing at 'free' on this forum. I spent a week trying to figure out what went down on the BF's when KickItUp started what looked like a Forum Fire on behalf of our company.
This performance scooter was 're'-invented by an athlete who knee's could not stand the impact of running. We have been accepted in every market we have approached except the cycling market. This really did confuse us because we are lifetime cyclists that loved finding and having this weird machine in our quiver. Do you think you are a strong rider now?-------try training on a performance scooter!
It should not be too hard to figure out that we are just trying to bring an established European sport and hobby and new recreational 'toy' to North America.
After the accidental discovery on the Bike Forums (yes Kurt thank you and we still love you), and seeing 2000 + people come view the abuse and read the 200 responses. We thought we would try a legitimate approach to the Forum to see what would happen.
Do you people feel like guinea pigs?? Take a moment and check out youtube.com and search via, Footbike, Kickbike, Racing, Events, Competition, Europe.....etc. At least you will get the idea that we are not making all of this up!

There's lots of us, it's training related, and it's European. If you're trying to sell the European angle you should post in the cyclocross forum. If you want to sell it here it needs arrowspoks, pabst holders and also it needs street cred, you need a couple messengers to carry packages around NYC for a while and kick flip it off of car hoods and stuff.

i can't imagine going up hills on one of these jawns would be fun.
here's another question: do you switch pushing feet ever? cause on a skate board, your non-pushing leg gets the workout of balancing your body, while the other pushes. with these, the handlebars seem to take care of the balance, which would make me think your non-pushing leg would get zero workout.
and i've over-thought this... someone post another aerospoke pic.

A REAL Question!

Yup-----you need to switch feet to work the other leg. The lactose buildup is in the standing leg---so an average of 4-10 kicks on the flats per leg, switch when you feel the standing leg fatigue. Everyone sees the hills differently. Too much hill------we get off and run/walk. Just enough hill, we kick 2-4 times per leg and 'give er ell'.
The kick isn't a slam into the pavement like you remember with your razor scooter. It is a big windup, and a 'brush' with the pavement, and of course work the glide. The pro's will average 16--18mph in a race. We tell new riders to engage their brain and remember sports like running, jumping, sprinting, rowing, lunging, skating, and cross country skiing to maximize the optimal 'kick' that they will be striving for.
Or-----Just Go!

How did you restrain from punching him in the head.
I live in Canada, but im originaly from Europe, Portugal to be exact. I go back there once in a while.
Ive never, ever, seen anyone ,here or there, riding one of those or anything similiar. As a European i can proudly say: Someone riding one of those in Europe or North America would get punched in the head either way.

The rear brakes get stripped to lighten the machine, give you some extra deck room, and to psych out the other racers. The cockpit sizings are standard, so just like a bike, you will see a variety of setups depending on the rider. Carbon Forks, Bars and Wheels when we can afford it. I added the golf balls on the brake studs to freak out the European racers and to give myself something else to talk about.

Don't the golf balls weigh nearly as much as the brakes you stripped to save weight?
Since you are looking for feedback from the public, here's some advice: Your product looks like fun, but for most, it's a novelty product. Not many people out there are going to be racing these things. With that said, I think you'll sell more if you can offer a base model for under $200. When people consider that a pretty decent mountain bike can be had for about the same price as the base model Foot Bike, they will likely look past your product.

The biggest objection from the bike industry is that you won't be bringing your scooter back in 2 months to service the thing and pay money for a new pair of shoes and pedals. But we are sane enough to realize we are not trying to replace a bike! We also have 'purchase' conflict with the bike industry in regards to how many performance scooters a person will want or need. If you buy a kid one of these things at age 7, he will grow into the machine through his adulthood. I know it is a real lousy thing to consider, but that same kid will not be getting a shiny new bike every Christmas from his local bike shop.
It is still just another set of wheels to us.

Asshole.
And you're trying to sell a scooter by calling it extreme. Which is worse than bieng an *******.
Edit to give actual advice: You'd be idiots to sell that thing with an uncovered rear wheel. People will burn the skin off their calves with the tyre and get their feet nicely jammed in the hole in front of it and then sue you. Wait, you're idiots anyway so what the hell... just go ahead.

I always get a kick out of this argument:
"Remember when <insert something here> was considered crazy and stupid? But now how its really big"
Ya.. it got big because it was a good idea. There are such things as bad ideas that won't become big. In fact most every time I hear someone use that line 10 years down the road we all look back and go "man we were all so stupid for wearing those day glow t shirts. What were we thinking.."

Is selling an idea different than selling a product? We are not the only performance scooter that exists, and we are not the first.
In my opinion the 'European' angle can sometimes be the kiss of death. As an example, would you rather party with Gary Glitter, Elton John, or Simon Cowell?------see what I mean?
However, the hardcore European racers that actually participate in seasonal racing circuits think this thing is the ultimate Man vs. Man vs. Machine, vs. Environment, vs. most things that we would consider common sense.
We know that we can get some street credit by having Travis Brown kick one of these up Mt. Charleston and back. Yet we can almost get the same impact having David Copperfield pull one out of his chamois.
Maybe.

Answer: Elton John.
p.s. that's a pretty dumb analogy.
