sub $30 chainring/bash guard (110bcd)?

Milwaukee bikes is obviously out of the question.
I'm finding a bunch of nice 130BCD ones, but i can't find one at a reasonable price in 110.
Does anyone know of one? If it's bash, i need it to cover a 44 tooth chainring. I found this, but i'm hoping for something made of metal if possible (otherwise i'm probably going to grab it).

thanks.

Tomassini frames are good

bbg bash guards are pretty inexpensive

I can't think of anybody who makes a bashguard for anything that isn't 4-bolt. That Danscomp may be your best bet (and it is a freak).

BBG bashguards makes both 4 and 5 bolt patterns in metal for 10$ plus shipping for the basic ones

Quick question: Why bashguard?

This going on a MTB?

jim-bob 03-18-08 03:20 PM

My guess is it's going on a cafe/errand bike and he doesn't want to catch his pantleg.

I have a BBG bashguard and it's great.

FWIW, I would trust a bash ring to keep my pantleg out of the chain on a single speed, but not fixed. It's too dangerous on a fixed gear to even risk it, IMO.

I have a crazy 44t Salsa bashguard in my parts bin. it's got these like...fins or pseudo-teeth for what I can only assume is better traction when dug into a log?

Good find! That's the first I've seen of any bash guards for "Compact" 94bcd cranks.

i built up a bike for towing stuff (two wire panniers in the back, a basket in front) like groceries, et al.
i have a chain guard and want to add a chainring/bash guard to keep my pants out of the drivetrain. i don't need a bashguad perse, just something to keep stuff off of my chainring.
ordered this one... i'll take pics once i have it, if anyone cares.

I bought one of those.BBG bashgaurds for the same purpose (110 BCD) No problems, fast shipping and works well. FWIW.

NitroPye 03-19-08 04:15 PM

Why not roll your pant leg?

imthewalrus 03-19-08 04:54 PM

On a semi-related topic, I got two pairs of pants stuck in my drivetrain. Neither of them forced me to rack myself on the top tube, rather, they just ripped my right pant leg up to my knee.

I was disappointed. Nuts can heal for free. Pants cost money.

dayvan cowboy 03-19-08 05:02 PM

^I'd rather keep buying pants than wait for my nuts to heal.
