Celeste/Black tire?

I've seen some bikes on velospace that had celeste tires on them, I've checked every online bike shop that I know of but can't find them anyway. So does anyone know if these tires are still made and if so where can I get them? I'm looking for something between 23c and 28c

some of the mitchelin pro tires look mildly celeste

I found some Celeste Vittoria on Ebay.
Sorry, I don't remember the seller.
My LBS will not carry them because they are not 'durable' enough.
I have not had any problems with them.
I probably have a couple thousand miles on them now and they still look good.

Unfortunate that you can only get rubino pros in that colour. Mediocre tire.

willypilgrim 03-19-08 06:58 PM

i guess i'm ********, because i don't see nearly the difference in tires half of you seem to.

also, half the people on the board over the course of time i've been hear have hyped rubino pros as at least above average tires.

Hey, I'm new to the forum and didn't want to start a new thread, but I'm looking for some new tires in the same size range as the OP. What are some good recommendations for overall riding in the $35 range? Thanks.

P.S. sorry about jacking the thread.

Vittoria are the closest to the Bianchi celeste. But i ran through mine in less than a month. But i also was skidding like a madman at the time.

willypilgrim 03-20-08 03:51 PM

that's why i only have the purdy tire on the front. skiddzilla tires go on the back. trying out the randonneur now.

Veloflex pave or Michelin pro race 3's.

I don't put it past you that you're ********, but I think the more likely explanation is that you've never ridden a pro race or any of the veloflex tires. Like all the hyped up products on this forum e.g open pro. There is simply better out there.
