What happened to the group buy?

https://bikeforums.net/showthread.php...ight=group+buy

What ever came of this? I was really excited for what it might develop into, but nothing ever happened. I might be looking to get a new frame this summer, and this would have been a great opportunity Can we get this fired up again? I would really love to land a bareknuckle in a group buy if that could happen!

Yeah, but at this point my vote's totally changed though. Already bought that entry level steel frame.

yeah, my vote changed to higher end steel frame, but I would probably take about anything on that list.

The simple fact of the matter is that if you want there to be a group buy, you have to organize it yourself.

In my opinion, most of the thing suggested were wildly optimistic or unrealistic, and had no chance on succeeding. I think the only group buy that has any hope of panning out is to go back to the well with IRO. Maybe try for something fancy, like 631 or True Temper tubing.

Well just buy the Kilo TT Pro when that comes out. There's no way that a group buy is going to approach the value of that frame, based on what we've been told.

^^^^^I don't know, but a Kilo TT frame by itself is worth what? $15? Pretty much only a good deal as a package.

i don't really know anything about these, but part of me thinks that a bareknuckle group buy might be feasible. If anyone wants to try to do that I'd be glad to help to the best of my ability. I don't know how easy it would be to work with the company since they are made in Italy, but again, I have very limited knowledge. If someone wants to try to organize this with me just PM me.

i believe it's been concluded that a bareknuckle group buy is not realistic.

Yeah, EAI is the distributor for Bareknuckle frames and they're not interested in arranging any group buys.

Either
a) SS tandem
or
b) come up with something feasible with nice tubing from IRO
or
c) a nice wheelset

are things I can see being realistic/worth the time.

I want something nice with track geometry. They are building a velodrome here, at least that's the rumor.

It WAS a joke, until some people figured out it might be a fun idea.
