Performance Bikes' Forte Campus Pedals are good (IMO) budget two sided pedals, SPD one side, platform the other or do you mean double-SPD sides?
Caliper/Levers, *shrug* upto you, you can get all kinds of choices. I'm using a Tektro RL720 cross lever (which many folks think are crap - I've never had a prob yet) on one bike and an old drop lever (without the suicide lever part) inverted on some flop/chop bars on another. Depends what you want look-wise/bike-wise.

Those pedals are perfect, i have an old steel road bike ill just steal the brake off that. Im gunna go with drop bars at first because ive ridden them and feel comfortable on them but who knows. -)
