drive train slipping?
lately while riding i keep experiencing these random jolts when i mash down on my pedals or skip/skid. i had my bottom bracket glanced at when i was in the shop to pick up a couple things and he said he didn't think it was the bottom bracket, then tightened my chain because he figured it was the slack slipping over the teeth of my chainring. we did that and i was out of there with no problems until a couple hours later when i felt it slipping. i know my best bet is to take it to a shop again and just have the BB looked at a little bit more seriously, but if its not that then i really dont know what it would be.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago. Replaced my bottom bracket and crankset and it solved the problem. I still have no idea what caused the slippage, a couple of my friends suggested that it was the cotterpin cranks I was rolling with, but they're not mechanics or anything...

i once had a bent chainring that made it feel like it was slipping. I noticed that it would slip the same every time i peddled. prolly not the same as your case though...
