Which one do you think looks better?

I like the look of a high flange hub so that's what I buy.

Low flange is nominally lighter, high flange is nominally stronger. Neither offers any real advantage.

The only difference between high and low flange is

1) weight
2) looks

i might be wrong, but another factor to high flange is if you shorten the spoke length by means of hf hub and deep profile wheels the wheels are ... stiffer ?

Yes...a high flange hub can yield a slightly stronger wheel... modern spokes made high flange hubs redundant as far as function goes but as far as style goes, and because we all like our pretty bikes, I prefer high flange hubs.

I would assume the production cost for good high flange hubs is also higher than low flange hubs since they use more material and are not as simple in their design.

I got high flange hubs because most of the riders at the local track had them. Figured they wouldn't all have them if they didn't serve some purpose. Later on sheldon told me stronger spokes made high flange hubs pointless.

HF presumably is slightly stiffer due to a steeper angle on your spokes as well as shorter spoke length but I can't notice it. Not to high jack but it's along the same lines. If you lace radial do you think that lacing from the inside or the outside has any difference on performance? I've ridden both and I can't feel a difference either way, I'd assume spokes to the outside would create slightly more lateral strength and to the inside may be slightly more aero. Is there any validity to this?
