Kilo TT Pro
When this new frame set is released what other frames will be comparable/compared to it? If it comes out at $250 will anything else on the market even be worth looking at? What affect will it have on other companies out there?
thx --- oops more info that should have been here originally:

it would be real hard to hit $450 delivered that is only $100 over a Kilo TT to get Platinum OX, Sugino RD, rims w/ eyelets, frt brake, aheadset -- I'll push the suppliers harder - but that is real low on the complete bike can probably do the frame/fork for $250 delivered easy. |
link?

the kilo tt pro was mentioned in the bikesdirect post about helping him choose colors for the next batch of kilo tt's. i'd search, but i'm lazy.
i don't remember them saying it'd be $250...but i hope it is!
i can't wait to see the kilo tt pro. i hope it's as nice as the hype is leading us to believe. and if it's close to $450 (shipped or not), that would be VERY tempting. i can't think of anything near that price point that's decent.
I wonder what colors he ended up choosing?
I hope either purple and/or white.... |
i don't feel like going through the kilo tt colors thread. same or steeper geometry for the tt pro?
same, just better tubing and threadless fork
Same everything at the Kilo TT, only fancier steel and different colors. As I recall, he said price for a frame would be ~$250, but that was before the dollar declined even further while Asian markets made huge gains, so I wouldn't expect that to sustain.
Considering the Kilo TT framesets still have yet to arrive, I wouldn't hold your breath for the Pro any time soon..
any word on this yet?
I am guessing that it is still a few months out. Maybe the bikesdirect dude can comment.
If he sees this thread... |
its a shame you can't really conjure him up like you could with sheldon

If he sees this thread... all orders have been running late, everyone in the industry has been having problems. Factories are so overbooked that it takes 6 months to even get tires. good news: he's adding a 55cm size! |

It is true; factories have gotten so late and prices have gone up so much; that it is insane the entire industry is all a buzz over it - especially the 20% minimum FOB OE price increases I have a friend that sells simple 1-speed cruisers to dealers for $90 dealer cost and he is being pushed up to $120 almost overnight Bad News: getting Kilo TT Pro in complete bike is taking forever. Still working on it - getting all parts is a pain Good News: Kilo TT frames are at last on the water [no 55 yet] 50,53,57,60 in Black, White, Green and Orange - along with forks to match if wanted. In and on bikeisland in about 2 weeks or so. KILO TT bikes in 55 plus in new purple in about 3 months from now. Great News: New Motobecane Jury Track/SS frame on the way - Same geo as a steamroller but with super nice dropouts, reynolds BD 520, trick seat cluster and VERY nice matching fork. Lots of room for tires; you can of course rin 20c or 23c - but also 38c or 42c. Sizes 49, 53, 56, 59, 62 C-T. COLORS: BLACK, ORANGE, BLUE, SILVER, and CHROME. Frames and forks in CHROME are more $$. Frame about $150 [$195 in CP] Fork about $60 [$90 in CP] -- frame builder is the best in Taiwan on Steel excuse my poor photoshop skills: http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...trackframe.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t.../trackrear.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...or/trackST.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...trackrrred.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...octor/fork.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...forkchrown.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...or/forkend.jpg |
looks good. i might have if i hadnt just bought a bareknuckle earlier today.
you traded your iro for a bareknuckle?
yeah. well. im gonna sell that frame soon. the geometry wasnt exactly what i wanted.
That Motobecane frame looks totally awesome, and with all those colors and at that price, you're going to sell boatloads of them, literally. I mean, a chrome frame and fork with clearance for 42c tires? That's just bananas. I already have more bikes than I know what to do with, or else I'd be all over that.
Good for you, capitalizing on Surly's oversight (no fender or rack mounts) and high prices (for 4130 steel, that is). |
Wow! I am totally getting one of those!
awesome! thanks for the update.
I am impressed, that looks like a damned nice frame. This will be a tough call....wait for the Kilo TT Pro or get that Jury in chrome. Damn.
wow, chrome is my jam. This will indeed be a hard decision.
Uhhh dope as all hell.
Two weeks is two weeks too far. I'm torn between the colors for the plain jane Kilo TT. Probably just come down to what's left for me to buy by the time I get online and all you guys bought everything. |
