it doesn't cost anything to shorten a cable...
I may cut the cable down a bit, just don't want the bend to be too sharp and braking be compromised, but it really doesnt get in the way at all.
I'd be begged to build this bike up with townie bars + a front rack and basket.
I left "Steamroller" on the top tube, and left the headbadge, and stripped all the other decals off. I used a blow dryer and then scraped them off while hot using one of those nylon dish-scrapers from the kitchen. I discovered the scraper after delaminating both thumbnails early in the process... ouch.

*update*
Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, just thought some may be interested I finally got round to removing the decals from the headtube, downtube and top tube, and IMO it looks a lot better now. Will decide whether to remove seat tube decal later on. For those who are interested I used a sharp knife, lots of WD-40 before and after removing the stickers, and then used T-Cut after removing them to shine it up a bit and remove the stickiness that was left behind. Keep the decals! Without them, it looks like every other lame-ass bike on FGG.
