Hah. Don't remind me of how sh'itty it is to not have a girlfriend right now.
I've been daydreaming about the favours I got the last time I sprained my ankle. Bikeforums and eBay are a lot less fun to wallow in than the tender sympathy of a female.

Interesting. The closest thing I've got to ginger and vodka is the more western and more disgusting combo of Kahlua and garlic.
I'm just glad I picked up a sixer today and still have about two spliffs left--my last before I plan on quitting this summer.
So, this garlic/vodka thing, should it be of any help the day after? I'm a little too into the beers and spliff to hop over to the grocery store at the moment.

Never a problem with my daily ride.
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Im...guard_part.JPG
But I did get my pant leg caught with my fixed bike, pulled hard enough to move the rear axle, pants, total loss.
Snapped a pic, I didn't know what hit me at the time, looked down to see this:
It was tough getting out, had to lay on the floor.

+1000 to roll up the pants...i was at the LBS a couple days ago, playing around w/ saddle adjustments. i went out in the alley to test out the saddle tweak, got about 50 feet away from the bike shop, and bam...unrolled ben davis leg got caught. i pedaled my face right into the ground. forehead hit first, then my left shoulder. got lucky on the head, no concussion, just a little goose egg/scrape, shoulder is a little more messed up tho. FAT scrape, and now stuff is clicking in there...still have full range of motion, it just feels kinda weird. i'm leaving my house right now to buy a helmet, $crew it if i don't look cool...

best cheap solution i found for winter roll-uping:
1) go to sierratradingpost.com and buy the cheapest baselayer pants you can get your hands on. i got columbia's for $5. they're awesome.
2) put them on.
3) roll up pants! they're a little baggy and look kind of stupid, but they're really warm. if you wanted them to look better, maybe go for cycling leg warmers, cycling tights, or underarmor tights under jeans.

I was riding to class on my fixed gear the other day when I started to feel a bit of pressure on my leg. I looked down at my foot and saw my lace begin to wrap around the crank arm. I screamed **** just as the lace tightened up, began to pull my foot over, then it snapped off. Thank god for ****ty old shoelaces.

This happened to me today after reading this thread more than week ago. I guess I shoulda learned from reading this.
I was riding with no hands, to be cool of course, and my **** gets caught.. and bam my knee goes into the stem (i really don't know what it hit, but I'm guessing the stem). I look down and my pants have about a foot long rip. Then I see a little hole where my knee is.. and as I looked closer, I saw a pretty decent sized gash. Don't really know if I need to get stitches.. but we'll see what happens.
I ruined my pants.

I only had my pants catch once because I'm good about rolling my pant legs up. I was standing up cranking on my FG tallbike and some how my left pant leg went through the frame and got caught in the chain. luckily they were cheap ass jeans from rugged warehouse so they ripped before I fell to my death. Now I roll both pant legs up.

If you don't roll up just one leg, how would anyone know if you rode a bike?!?I roll up my jeans like crazy. I have two pairs, and I have to keep them presentable for work, so I would rather just keep them completely out of harm's way.

i jam my thumbs up and back into the tubes. this way i can point my fingers straight out in front to split the wind and attain an even more aero profile, and the usual fixed gear - zen - connectedness feeling through the drivetrain is multiplied ten fold because my thumbs become one with the tubing.

Speedos are not quite as cool as rolled up pants legs.

Took a short ride yesterday; used only left-foot-forward for stopping without much pain in the right; back in business.
What was that? Just over a week? Not bad, but it's still something like 50% of our spring/summer.
