Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

All my bikes are ancient... like me.

thanks! as with all off-the-shelf bikes, its a constant work-in-progress. i might swap out the bullhorns for a set of north road bars to mess around town on, and keep the bullhorns for the occasional day when i take a longer ride or when its windy.

Pre-1967 151BCD Sugino Mighty Competiton Cranks

They came to me already kind of beat up and with signs that someone 20 years ago painted them blue, so I don't mind using them every day in all conditions.

Um, it's a mtn bike frame with 700C wheels that I built myself, road cranks, lights, an 80's Zefal MTB rear fender held on by a snowboard leash and a CX fork. It's pretty unique. I get lots of "WTF?" looks on road rides.

nothing gives any of my bikes character.

well, except for the Bianchi, they're all black. but that's not character.

the eyeball and dinosaur bell on the mountain bike might be considered character:

Rae, those rims look great. I don't think I'd have the patience for hand-polishing them.
