I'm going to fixie the flat tire on my bike. Hey, that's not so bad.

sp00ki 04-14-08 07:40 AM

lol, you're a nerd now.

bexley 04-14-08 08:03 AM

All this b'itching, which I didn't bother reading, and no one mentions how, um, interesting it is that they used Dutch words for the North American site?

Racefiets
Stadsfiets
BMX fiets

Hah, I love it. Were it not an isolated thing, I'd like to think the Dutch words overtook the industry by that country's sheer use of bicycles.

zelah 04-14-08 08:20 AM

holy **** is that dutch?

Welk type fiets is jouw favoriet?

hahahhaha

I had no idea that dutch was just broken english that no one fixied

bexley 04-14-08 08:37 AM

No. English is just broken Dutch/German/French.

zelah 04-14-08 08:46 AM

Do roadies hate the term roadie? Either way, I'm definitely going to call mountain bikes "mounty" from now on.

mander 04-14-08 10:41 AM

Sorry dudes, fixies are what you ride. If you don't like it, get a roadie.

mihlbach 04-14-08 01:24 PM

You know those giant pickup trucks with dual rear wheels. Some rednecks call those dualies. You guys are basically a bunch of wannabe rednecks on bikes.

powers2b 04-14-08 01:38 PM

Sorry, I don't speak freaky-deaky dutch.

Using the word "fixie" has nothing to do with personality types. I used to say "fixie" when I first got into fixed gear bikes. Does that mean I changed my whole personality type within the few days when I went from using "fixie" to "fixed gear"? No.

roderage 04-14-08 07:10 PM

let the great fixie domain name grab begin!

LurkasauresRex 04-14-08 07:47 PM

I think it's the long e thing. Do you think fixer would be more accepted than fixie?

jjvw 04-14-08 09:46 PM

Fixie is too cute sounding for us hardcore, wannabe messers.

Sixty Fiver 04-14-08 09:54 PM

Fixie.

Fixer.

Fixed gear.

I use em all.

Sixty Fiver 04-14-08 09:55 PM

Oops... forgot "fix".

Pretty soon I'll be down to just saying I'm gonna ride my f ("fuh").
