How do you like your cleats, Cletus?

Where do you position your cleat or foot over the pedal axle, in front of or behind it?

Higher RPM spinning seems easier with cleat farther back, anyone else notice this?

i prefer my cleats set back, just behind the ball of my foot. i feel as though i get better power and better spinning. i don't know what the rule of thumb for this is, but when i first installed my cleats, they were forward, and they felt weird, so i moved em back and they felt much, much better.

The rule of thumb would be to have the cleats positioned so the ball of your foot is centered over the pedal axle.

My cleats go wherever they don't make my knees hurt.

Ideally is directly under the ball of your foot. If the front of your knee hurts (directly under the kneecap), your cleats are too far forward. If the back of your knee hurts, your cleats are too far back.

my cleats are as far back as they'll go on my sidi's. i started at the center of the ball of the foot, and have steadily moved them back, a couple mm's at a time. the farther back, the better it feels.

This intrigues me. You cats with the cleats set way back... what discipline of riding do you normally do? Have you always been riding fixed/road/ss or did you come from a BMX or MTB background or wha?

I ride with my cleats almost all the way back, and I'm on my MTB a lot more often than I'm on my road bike.
