New to the forum...so here are a couple of pics

Bike porn is the best part of any forum, so I thought I'd share some on my first post

So I got my first fixed gear -- a capo (the wheels are silver btw).

and here's my mtb - Ventana SS rigid 29'er. The capo is very nice, but this one is truly awesome on the trails.

Probably the biggest surprise is how weird it feels to go from fixed to my singlespeed mtb. I seem incapable of coasting, afterwards. Like some weird muscle memory where my legs are expecting resistance and tense up. Very strange, and it takes a little while to get over it.

Edit: added some angle pics

Nice MTB. I ride both fixed gears and singlespeeds weekly...after a while you learn to adjust to the switch instantly and it ceases to feel weird.

Your bikes are pretty. Especially that Cannondale; love the level bars.

Slabshaft 04-30-08 02:34 PM

That Ventana is decked out.

robotkiller 04-30-08 02:42 PM

Yeah, I don't do any commuting with it, so I was able to spend some cash without worrying about it getting stolen. I don't know how people lock up their zooty bikes without constantly worrying.

Nickle 04-30-08 02:42 PM

That Ventana is a beauty. Good taste in bikes, man.

drainyoo 04-30-08 02:44 PM

Being a Capo owner my self I'm biased. Beautiful bike.

My bike isn't even that nice and I constantly worry about it getting stolen when it's locked up while i'm in my 2 hour classes or when I work.

Awesome bikes. Kinda random, but what's up with all the footprints on the door in the MTB bike pic?

East Hill 04-30-08 02:49 PM

Those are both very nice.

Welcome to BikeForums, too :) !

Sweet. Do you ride them? They look pristine.

robotkiller 04-30-08 02:57 PM

I ride the sh*t out the Ventana, the pics are from when I just finished building it, so it was pre ride. Same thing with the Cannondale.

ralphm2k 04-30-08 03:00 PM

The Ventana is sick.

metaljim 04-30-08 03:09 PM

sure wish i had a capo. the red and white looks damn nice.

crushkilldstroy 04-30-08 03:10 PM

Cheers to you on the Ventana.

Jeers to you for a NDS shot.

willypilgrim 04-30-08 03:14 PM

i wonder why more people don't ride capos instead of ugly ass langsters and bowery's.

thequickfix 04-30-08 04:56 PM

How do you like the kenda karmas? I just ordered a pair for the monocog I'm building.

They are surprisingly good. Very lightweight and decent traction, considering how low profile they are. Rolling resistance is pretty good for a knobby tire. As long as you know it's limitations, I would recommend them.

NitroPye 04-30-08 07:43 PM

When I was riding my mountain bike today, I was pretending I was riding your Ventana instead.

Is that like imagining someone else when your having sex?

neverjared 04-30-08 07:45 PM

I really like the Cannondale! Classy bike!

Judge_Posner 04-30-08 07:45 PM

its like imagining someone else's wife when you're having sex

edit- the capo color scheme is fantastic
