drunk ones EivlEvo, thanks for stepping up to the plate and offering to help. I'm sure you will do your best to be fair yet fun. I know the last 48hrs have been hard and harsh, but I hope no one took it too personally. I'll continue to lurk around here, but try to keep my hands off the mod buttons. :) |
wheres the internet serious biddnes pics?
if only people cared this much about ridding the actual world of ills instead of messageboard nonsense. |

Hey man... you can hate my "inexperience" all you want. But search my posts... I think I completely understand the way BFSSFG goes. I've been on here religiously since october and am in love with the wit and sarcasm that occurs.
I mean... Im here FOR the people. If you see me do something (or anyone for that matter) that you don't like... let me know. I think my posts in the "closed BFSSFG" thread... which is somewhere where I can't even see it illustrate my principles very well. |
by expending energy fighting social ills rather than policing jokers on teh interwbz?

see, thats funny. I don't miss Koffee though, Rev. Chuck yes. |
I'm not making the connection here. It shouldn't matter who the moderator is, or where they post. How does that make any difference as far as posts that need moderating?

Brian what they/we are saying is that you guys that are out of "the ss/fg loop" edit posts because of content that don't need to be edited.
The swearing and language and anything else in the guidelines fine. But I see alot of posts edited that shouldn't have been. They were just using lulcatz or other weirdo lingo. They weren't meant to be nor should've nor do I think would've been taken offensively. Having someone to mod this ss/fg forum that is IN this ss/fg forum is the best option. I agree that these forums should be open and comfortable to all. I don't think that they were really very offensive other than the occasional nonsense pics, or vulgarity. You'd find that within any forum though. Similar to being a pilot, there is a sub culture here with their own form of "english". They aren't offensive words, and I think the "it takes one to know one" standard of moderating here will serve this as well as the overall community better. No one is going to hate a mod for editing a swear word or nonsensical imagery that is clearly offensive. But most of the posts that got edited stating "trolling" as the reason are the posts that make BFSSFG what it is so to speak. |

I just expressed my thoughts on the matter, I found BB to be a wierd choice to be a mod in BF. In regards to who should mod what, I think a mod who posts alot in the fg section should be here to mod when the stuff hits the fan. But hey whatever, I'm going back to the T.O. thread. |

The linked 'probation/ban list' screen has the explanation for the action right there. The admin who did the probation/ban is right there, so people know who to go to for questions. Those three things would eliminate 90% of the noise that develops on this board once some drama occurs. Look how many threads get posted with gossip and questions, and the 'hack' of having a probation/ban thread that admins keep having to point people to. If that stuff were integrated, it'd help a lot. |

I would like to start this newly revised forum off right by saying:
**** **** ***** ***** Mother****in' Rick Roll |
Regarding editing posts.
As I stated. Any post that I edit will have an explanation and you'll know that it has been edited. In most if not all cases this will be IN the thread, IN the edited post. I agree about the mass confusion of a silently edited post. Just understand it is not my job nor my intention to put words in peoples mouthes or to change the meaning of something. So if it gets hairy... just message me and I'd be more than happy to accommodate your concerns to the best of my abilities. |
Congrats, EivlEvo on your becoming the new mod here. I'm sure you will do well. :)
