Philly to NYC on a fixed gear
I'm planning on riding my fixed gear up to new york pretty soon. Does anyone know a good route to take? I've been searching pretty hard on the internet but no luck.

I'm going this Friday if I can find a surefire route.

Just avoid motorways, dirt roads and neighbourhoods where people get killed for their bikes. Other than that, why obsess about "the right route"?
If you can get your hands on a gps, take it with you. |
It doesn't sound like he's "obsessing" at all.
He's doing what any person capable of forethought should do. The route taken and sights seen have everything to do with the enjoyment of a ride. And your recommendation to "just avoid..." isn't as easy as it sounds. |
Yeah, I'm just looking for someone with knowledge of which roads might be better than others, quickest route, no cars driving 80mph, etc.
|
I've recently gotten into checking bikely.com for routes. I did a cursory search and couldn't find a NYC/Philly route but playing around with search parameters, like NYC/DC, might work for you. Good luck. Sounds like fun.

Making a bike ride dependent upon "finding a surefire route" sounds like you're overthinking (is that a word? - now it is) this.
That's all I'm saying. |
going by myself and not trying to get lost?
