Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

help a brother out.....

What happened to all the flame wars? I use the word "flame" on purpose, sissies. I come here for smut, crap, junk, general ********ness. This was the toilet bowl of the cycling internets, did the scrubbing bubbles really work? SS and fixed gear riding is about not bathing, why is it so clean here? This forum went from amusing to boring. If I want sensible posts I'll check C&V. I hope someone didn't open the box.

PS: it's fish and chips night at the funk-house. I've probably downed too many Boddingtons. but still the new "friendlier" ssfg blows

You know what happened. People that are "outsiders" felt ostricised in this forum. They complained, and subsequently a number of our regular posters have been banned. Myself and PeedTM (who is now banned) argued feverishly to try to help the situation by making the new cats understand what the nonsense was actually about. Its just a bunch of people sitting around busting perverbial balls. Not to mention... I would wager that 90% of the posts actually reported were simply misunderstood.

So now... we're left with this group of people that instead of having little flame wars, they come in here to tell us what a cess pool it is, or was, or anytime someone makes a post that isn't about bikes they feel that its their right to inform us (and me as "moderator") that there is no room for posts like that.

People need to lighten up overall on here. SS/FG isn't friendlier... people just aren't flaming. Im trying to do my best to walk a very fine line between letting us have fun and keeping the real mods appeased with the content.

gaaaaaaaahhhh... what can I say?

But I am sick of people that aren't or weren't regular posters coming in here and saying essentially (ha ha... you got in trouble).

IDIOTS!

EvilEvo, you lost your star.

I find the forum pretty boring lately myself... which is probably why my post count went way down lately...

Agreed. I have only posted once in the last week. I'm not sure if I'll even stay around much longer. I think that the recent shake down ruined all the fun around here, sad to say!

Hey lets start another thread with pictures of scantly clad women on fixed gear bikes that should liven things up.

Maybe it'll be better here. I get the concept, it's just painful getting there. With the site who's name shall not be uttered, we have a great outlet for the BS that BF didn't welcome.

I just wish it wasn't a dirty word here so the hooligans could be re-directed appropriately. I think it'd make this a little easier on folks like the OP, and probably BF too.
