I punched a hole through my ourys, so I'm interested in something that will prevent this.

you should get lock-on ourys.. superior in every way.

but you could go with something like this:

This is why you're supposed to put nickels in your Ourys before you slip them on.

They are good, but they aren't as thick. Personally, I prefer the lock-ons, but if you are looking for the thick, chewy consistency of normal oury's, they won't perform as advertized.

A friend of mine did that. Now he has nickels poking out the end of his Ourys.

1fluffhead 05-06-08 12:33 PM

I use quarters instead of nickels. I found that nickels are just a little too small.

Robotronik 05-06-08 03:53 PM

btw that's a pretty bike.

dervish 05-06-08 04:05 PM

would that nickels thing rlly work?

willypilgrim 05-06-08 05:00 PM

i have nickels in my oury's and they are holding up fine. they're on the second pair of bars i've used them on and i've take them on and off multiple times to chop the bars down further.

I road BMX for 8 years, call it tradition...

lanOGiro 05-07-08 11:19 AM

When I cut my bars, I make sure to file down the edges pretty well before I stick my grips on and they never got cut open. The last time I cut my bars I forgot to file them and the grips cut in less than a day. That quarter thing seems like a good idea, i'll probably try that next time.
