Missing Mayo...
Gotta say the discourse here has gotten pretty dull without Mayo around to incite a little discussion. Anybody got something controversial to discuss?
|
Are the people in Iraq that our government calls terrorists really terrorists? Or are they Iraqi freedom fighters and the "terrorist" moniker is merely an example of political double-speak? It could be interesting to draw some parallels between the "terrorists" in Iraq and the IRA "terrorists". What say you? Terrorists or Freedom Fighters, or something else entirely?
Note: I know this "should" go in the Political forum. I'm just throwing it out as a possible controversial discussion for the off-beat mind of the fixie riders. |

Yup. That should be contraversial.
Saw this at corporateswine.net. As a corporate shoat, I try to visit as often as I can. |
Superchivo--he's corporate...yet well versed in 15th century middle engish...shoat...mmmm...
I'd reply to the not-yet-ready-for-primetime "freedom fighter v. terrorist" debate, but I don't think that party will get started until Mr. Karsten arrives. |
ok, maybe I missed something here,
Where is Mayo? self induced sabbatical? I know we (mods) didn't ban him, last post I saw was his sermonizing about helmets and such. and no, I'm not gonna move this to politics and religious rants phorum. Marty |
Why, so everyone who doesn't have a fixed gear can run in and call other people evil?
The boy's a lightening rod for creating polarity in a single minded forum. |
Willie -
You're right. He's kind of like Mayo on your fries - you either like him or you don't. But, he does get people talking, even if half the people are calling other people racist nitwits. It’s been quiet since his trip to the ER As for controversy, I'll throw one out: Are the knock-off Phil Woods hubs I bought from a West African in Battery Park funding global terror? BTW - Did you ever manage to swing by the bike shop you wrote about a couple of weeks ago while it was open? Find anything good? |
I like food. And Haikus.

http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=41025 Picked up a sweet older Bianchi, lugged, decent drop outs, and already trimmed down for FG. Just waiting on my stuff from chucks bikes to put the cherry on top. |
Knock off West African hubs only support terrorism if he asked to be paid in ammonium nitrate fertilizer to make "his homeland fertile for the new regime, er, aahh, crops, yeah crops, that's the ticket"
|
I heard the West African Company was owned by a relative of George the II!!!
|
Actually, I believe the work was sole-sourced to Haliburton.
|
Noooo....I'm pretty sure it was an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity, Section 8(a) contract awarded to a HUBZone elgible contractor who despite being headquartered in West Africa was able to bypass the relevant "Buy American" provisions found in the Bayh-Dole Act because of a major lobbying push aimed primarily at members of the House Subcommittee on Hubs and Cranks.

I always figgered there was a subcommitee on crank.
