first post: hello and here's my fixie

had this bike forever. always swapping parts out / replacing stolen parts.

never knew there was a forum like this, just found it the other day.

here's my fixie.

schwinn 57cm tenax frame (kinda small for me)
fsa 44t chainring
kmc k710 black/silver chain
sakae sx cranks 130bcd
generic pedals/clips
cheap qr seat
chopped bars
alexrims at400
cheap bontrager tires
no brakes

all parts are either used or very cheap. this is a city bike and i leave it locked up sometimes so there is no point in having "nice" parts to get stolen. i think my kryptonite chain & lock costs more than the bike itself haha. i also have some bullhorn bars but they are kind of wide and get in the way when i'm riding through traffic. here are some photos...

i did just ordered a new "TA SPECIALITES 130BCD 1/8"x48t CHAINRING" and a new KMC gold chain ebay because i couldn't find a cheap one around here. every bike shop i try wanted to sell me something similar for $80+

anyway, hi everyone.

Nice bike. I would recommend a change of bar because of that weird bend. An aluminum bar shouldn't be more than 12$. Try leaving it a bit longer, you might like it.

i actually wanted the slight bends. they fit into my palms nicely. i don't like grips and don't want any so i figured the bends would be ok. only had these bars on a few days and so far i really like them.

the only other bike that i know of that has a lola sticker is my brothers. he works for that company so he slapped stickers on both of our bikes. he has a really nice white newer schwinn fixie.

hmmm i guess you guys don't like my bike. well, to each his own.

like i said i've had this bike forever and it's supposed to be a "beater" bike. i don't see the point in having a nice bike in the city because i lock it up all the time.

it's not supposed to be a fashion statement, it's transportation haha. lot's of stuck up hipster kids on here i'm guessing...

It actually is, threads here get too off topic and denigrating. Posting a bike that is not worth drooling over in it's own unique thread rather than the stickied thread for bike pics is inviting such posts. This all pinnacled recently; this forum was to be closed for a month and lots of regular contributors were suspended/banned.

So don't do that. Or ask me for a better outlet for disruptive posts. I know a place.

Nice to have you theorie. Is that seat angle comfortable? I'd feel like I was trying to lean back against it too much.

Sure, you might get crap about it normally, but this last week has been a little crazy in here.

Nah... no one is saying they don't like your bike. As Peed said. There was a recent lock dizzown on the board. So we're all mad skeptical of seemingly friendly posts. Like... think... a whole bunch of kids that have gotten beaten by some beast and are kept at bay in a cave. Then the beast goes out one day... and a couple of dewdz sleigh it. Then those dewdz come walking into the cave and are all super nice, but all the beaten kids are all hiding, peeking around the corner because the only thing they know is oppression.

Chill, relax, enjoy. Try not to get beaten.

Welcome.

You shouldnt need goo-gone. They should lift right off without leaving residue.
Lift the corner and pull slow - Use a credit card to get it going. If it is leaving residue, use a hair dryer to to warm it up as you are pulling along.

Get some real clips too. Check out Soma.

Nice looking bike btw.

It's not even the angle. That seat looks painful. Why is it so far back on the rails? I read your frame is smll for you but can't you get a longer stem? A setback seatpost if that still doesn't work? Doesn't that seat flex all over the place when you are riding? It's almost like suspension you have your butt cantilevered out so much...
