yeah, it's that small amount of accumulation where it's enough to slip you up, but not enough so it doesn't hurt when you land.

I'm not too worried though, I'm from Vermont... where it's no big deal 'till it's over your waist.

wimp! ;) i rode to class in the snow. falling off doesnt scare me, but i always have this nagging thought that some stupid motorist is going to skid out of control into me....people in philly have NO IDEA how to drive in snow...

..I think it was worse today with all the ice and packed down snow :( I didnt drive today...but I did ride my mtn. bike ;)

yeah, lots of ice out there today. the whole alley by my apartment is one sheet of ice. i'm still in the process of building a fixed gear bike so i'm riding my mountain bike right now, but i'm worried about the salt hurting the fancy components and that stuff. should have the fixed gear done in about a week. if i'm primarily just commuting, and maybe a weekend ride or 2, on my mtn bike, do i have anything to worry about corrosion wise from about 1 weeks salt and slush and whatnot?

on a sidenote: i'm really surprised more people don't slip and kill themselves on philadelphia's sidewalks and alleys. seriously. and can we make a rule that if the building owner is too lazy to shovel the sidewalk they should at least throw some sand and salt down? that would help a lot.

...I just heard on the news this morning that people that dont shovel their sidewalks get a $25 ticket in their mailbox ;)

riding my track bike around nyc in the wet and snow is great fun... love skidding and kind of turning sideways and just flying down the street.

unfortunately i just moved over the bridge to dumbo and the pothole-laden cobblestone streets over here are not too friendly in the snow.
