Foot brakes.

What do you guys think is harder, coming out of the saddle to lock everyhting up or being able to skid in the saddle? I found standing up and doing it was actually harder to learn.
Am I crazy?

I actually thought of putting a coaster brake on a fixed gear.
And pegs.
And a my little pony top tube protector.
Then it would p.i.m.p.

maldekai 05-14-08 07:14 PM

I had laying around those rubber rim brakes pads and couldn't seem to put it in the coaster brake.

Trek dont sell internal parts for their coaster brakes,Here is their email to me

Hi Mark,

Thanks for writing and riding Trek bikes. On a hub like this, it's much
easier and less expensive to purchase a new wheel than it would be to
replace coaster brake shoes. If a cone is pitted, this could be
replaced. Trek does not have part numbers for small items like this, but
most bike shops will have a selection of replacement cones or access to
distributors which have them available. Again, though, you may find it
much more cost effective to replace the wheel rather than overhaul a hub
like this.

Ride on,

Drew Axt | TREK Bicycle Corporation| drew_axt@trekbikes.com
My LBS doesnt carry internal parts for coaster brakes, but they do carry whole hubs, special order.

I ordered one from the web at 10.00 cheaper.

if you ride barefoot, jamming your toes into your front spokes works really well.

Get a helmet, don't brake and hope for the best.

That's what I did when I was a kid... Had a big gouge in my Converse from it, but it was fun!

Someone needs to make a bike where you have to use a clutch to shift gears.

Hell yeah, dude! You showed them. Just one question: When you go into your LBS, do people roll their eyes and find their way to the back of the shop?
