2 questions regarding the Tomasso Augusta

https://www.rscycle.com/s.nl/it.A/id.21400/.f

1. Wondering how I could switch to a Nitto Quill Stem, and what type of headset I'd need to replace my current one. Can someone please explain to me what threads mean when it comes to stems/headsets. I'm thinking of a Nitto Track Stem like this one: https://shop.vendio.com/benscycle/ite...387/index.html

and
2. What the hell kind of bottom bracket is the "Truvativ Powerdrive" I can't find it on Truvativ's website, and I'm wondering what type of cranks I can get to replace my current ones/if there's a way to take the decals off the current cranks.

Thanks for any help/sarcasm/comments.

To make that fashionable stem work you will need a new fork and headset as well.

As far as the bottombracket goes that's a crapshoot. Truvative makes the "powerspline" which is their proprietary bull**** design for their low end cranks. That is probably what they are referring to. But with ****ty low end stuff you never know...

i believe thats a Truvativ Power Spline. i believe you'll have to get cranks that fit that BB unfortunately. you could always just swap out the BB :s

your best bet is to bring it to a LBS and they'll tell you all your options.

Eh...Tommaso Augusta...

I bought one of those a while back. The seatstays were improperly welded and screwed up the wheel alignment, so and they gave me a new one on their own dime. I started a huge thread about it a while back.

Other people didn't have the same problem as me, so hopefully it's safe to buy now. But other things about that bike that really bothered me were the terrible quality paintjob, which was bubbly in some places and the cheap seatstay bridge. By cheap I mean there were no provisions to mount a brake with a recessed nut, just a simple hole like many cheap road bikes. Not that any of these things are terribly important to the functionality of the bike, but they bothered me enough since I spent all my money on it.

I'd suggest another bike, unless you're dead set on getting it. The Mercier Kilo TT sounds like your best bet, since it's already set up for a quill stem and has generally positive feedback on this board.
