vertical dropouts vs. horizontal dropouts
whats the difference. i know road bikes have vertical dropouts and fixed/track have horizontal but why?

white industries now makes a fixed/free eccentric rear hub. this allows you to get proper chain tension even with vertical drops by adjusting where the center of the hub is around its axle. they're pretty nice looking. it's called 'eric's eccentric eno fixed gear hub'. it's at the very bottom of this page:
