a few questions about windsor the hour...

I have an old nishiki rally conversion-with-risers i use as a lock up/rain bike. unfortunately, it's heavy as ****.
Yes it's a beater-for-a-reason, but i'm not poor so i've been considering buying a windsor the hour as a replacement. I need to consider a few things first, though:

1) is the frame really heavy too?
2) the pics i see online show that it has rear fender mounts. is there enough clearance to run the honjo koken 35mm fenders that are on my nishiki? if so:
3) is there a place behind the bb shell to mount a fender?
4) do the decals come off relatively easily?
5) has anyone successfully sold the parts off of a windsor the hour? everything on my nishiki is better; i really just want a lighter cheap a$s frame..

opinions?

I could answer a few of these questions in about..6 days when mine gets here :)

lighter probably but for the quality of the parts you may want to go with something better, considering you say you're not poor. just got one my self, gradualy swithcin out parts.

Why not grab one of the kilo tt framsets off of bikeisland.com? they are 199 and that frame everyone says is way nicer than the windsor, especially the fork. it also has no decals to start with.

the orange looks especially sick in real life, almost like highlighter or something.

I just got a 07 fuji track which is supposed to be the same frame as the windsor, and I love it, but if you have the components already and are just looking for a frame, Id say that kilo frame is hard to beat.

hrm... if the hour is the same as the fuji track, it won't take full fenders.

does the kilo tt? it doesn't appear to either.

There's nothing behind the bottom bracket besides cheap aluminum.

You'd have to modify the fenders to fit the stays and fork.

You won't be able to sell much off the build. Possibly the wheelset.

Better off buying a frameset elsewhere. Have you considered the surly crosscheck?
