Steel is Real

I don't plan to get a new bikef or a while (just got a Bianchi Fremont and am about done with my Nishiki fixed) but am wondering what production steel/track bikes are made right now.

I currently know:
IRO
Mercier TT
Windsor Hour
the frameset availible at Bikeisland

What are some other good steel framed fixed geared bikes availible? I just am trying to see what is out there to plan ahead. Also i really do like the IRO bikes but just built one that was almost $1000, what makes them better than say a Mercier TT? I am debating whether or not i want my next steel fixie to be super expensive like the IRO or more of a Hour or TT. Thanks for the help guys.

Steel am be Real but only if good steel

Holmes...steel be the bomb diggity but not the crap steel you referred to..Do some major home work before you buy a taiwan made basic steel steed. The problem with the ferous materials is that when made well and done correctly the cost as much as carbon, Ti, but weigh far more..The stuff is magic but not cost effective unless you ride crappy steel.
Have fun

they basically don't exist in the state of michigan.

Do you want a track frame or a fixed gear frame? It will determine what the suggestion should be.

This is page 1 of this forum. On page 2 you'll find a thread called "A discussion of budget fixed-specific frames/complete bikes" with 303 replies on this very topic (if it's not on page 2, it's probably on page 3, or try searching). It will be helpful to you.

All these are cheap chromoly steel. As far as I know the Rush Hour is the closest to true track geometry.
Raleigh Rush Hour - Trackish geo
Schwinn Madison - Trackish geo
Sun Uno - Roadish geo
Redline 925 - Roadish geo

These have/can make very nice steel true track geo bikes
