Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Commuter Mode; Perhaps you could spray that Spot tensioner flat black?

Regardless, a hot little bike.

snow = miche supertype
commuter = maybe but it being silver doesn't matter too much to me. I'd totally forget about it a minute into the ride

Just posted a separate thread about this, but I'll post it up here too. The first of a fleet of 12 community bikes. That's a cetma 3-rail with a shopping basket affixed with mirror hangers and a bungee. I'm still working on a simpler front release for the basket.

It has been so damn windy and unsettled lately I've been riding my geared commuter / touring bike but tomorrow I think I'll take the Kuwie down for my commute.

I don't expect an apocalypse to happen either but it is supposed to rain a little.

I've posted this many times before, but it fits in as a utilitarian bike.

Here's the writeup for making the pannier: click me! Although it's not pictured, I've since made some improvements. I put a stiff board in the back and remounted the pannier hardware at an angle for more heel clearance and to keep the bag from rubbing against the wheel.

My bike itself isn't utilitarian but I guess you could say one of it's main uses is.
Twice a day to and from school 4 miles on very hilly roads.
Still trying to figure out a good gearing for this. Currently 45 x 19

this is what I will be riding to school/work every day come late august. It'll be all white with black pinstriping on the frame joints. Oh, and it won't have that extra saw blade once I get finished with the mini-grinder.

It will be going all winter too. I'm thinking of building a trailer.
