Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Let's see those utilitarian fg/ss bikes.

Here is my daily commuter. Fixed. Fenders. Sometimes a pannier. Blinkies. Cotton Tape. Moustache bars. A smooth riding utilitarian machine.

difflock - Haven't struck a pedal since I fixed the bike... although one has to be mindful of the Twenty's lack of clearance.

The handling ability of the Twenty is such that fairly extreme turns can be taken in a fairly vertical position and one just doesn't lean too far into the turns.

I have never ridden a folder 20" bike on the road, it just LOOKS as if it would be a problem. I will take your word about the handling.

diff - The Twenty handles better than any bike I have ever owned... this is great for dodging potholes if you decide not to just blow through them cause the bike can also take that kind of abuse.

How about some updated photos ?

The Twenty got it's bb overhauled and I installed a Stronglight 90 which is a far nicer crank than the old SA cottered model and it now has a flip flop hub to give me a second gearing for when the loads get heavier.
