Thank you for your timely response but you did not answer my question. Again, i see you do not have cages but in your normal foot position how close is the toe overlap on your 58? Is it not even close, is it close?
I understand for most people it's a non-issue, but it is a big deal for me when I have to navigate sharp turns at low speeds on my kilo tt. I am looking for a more relaxed frame with no toe overlap, and so far i've only come across the SE Lager/Dawes SST and the IRO Mark V that fit the description in my search. I do not in any way mean to come off snappy. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions, your bikes are looking great. |
Thank you for being more specific, it was not clear to me the first time.
It is not true that any road/track geo frame 54cm and under with clips will always have toe overlap, as my Dawes SST in 54cm does not have any toe overlap, not even close. I also believe that the 53cm IRO Mark V does not have an overlap issue, asfaik. Unless you are considering these frames touring, hybrid, or mtb geo then i'd have to say that no, not all 54cm and smaller track/road frames have toe overlap. |
My SSR is almost done!
I just got the carbon fork for it today but I'm going to take it to work tomorrow to cut the steerer tube (we have a very accurate gravity-feed saw which is perfect for cutting tubes) and I'm waiting on the Tufo gluing tape for my sew-up rims. Pics soon! |
awesome bike. I love the fork
those are flop'n'chops?

Thank God its too small |

It's 130mm BCD, 44T. So I guess that would make it compact. It's basically a road double but Truvativ/Bontrager modified it for track/fixed use. The external BB is nice and the installation is cake.

I wish they made Bontrager track cranks in silver

Very nice buildup there. I just sold mine tonight for $700.
I say the stickers should go! :) |
nice. that's not the worst honeypot in the bucket.
i mean... you picked a good bushel before the tickets got powdered. i mean... damn colloquialisms. |
I was thinking of getting rid of the stickers but if my riding buddies ask me what kind of frame it is what should I say!?:p;)

Can't wait till my frame gets here, I'll post pics when I finish the build.

Waiting for mine as well. I have all the small parts, I just need the drivetrain and wheels.

UPDATE
Here's the final product. I ended up swapping forks with the Lemond Fillmore I have since I like the versatility of the taller Salsa fork better. It handles like a Bianchi Pista but slightly more comfortable but that might be because the chainstay and TT is a bit longer than the Pista I had. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...7/2f770a68.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...7/87361346.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...7/c947ce5a.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...7/5e819901.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...7/828f699f.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...7/7af9e97b.jpg What bike hanger is that? |
Ugh, backordered frames are now listing 9/1 as the expected date.
|
Mine is one of them. Eventhough it said that the frames were expected to ship on 7/15 (I ordered it on the 16th).
|
So much for getting mine built before the baby arrives.
Chris |
I just called performance and had them give me my money back, I ordered mine on july 14th. I guess i'll just buy the drivetrain parts now and wait for bike island to get more kilo TT frames.
|
Yeah, I ordered mine at the beginning of the month with an extra 15% off. So, the frame/fork is < $200 shipped and after tax (I'm in Tx so I pay taxes for both Performance/Nashbar & Bikes Direct/Island). I'm going to keep the order unless something cheaper & better comes along (Moto Jury??).
I've also got a conversion ('87 Schwinn Tempo) I'm pretty happy with. I do need to tear it down and strip/repaint though and this bike is going to fill the void during that time. I also really want to try out the more aggressive (HA) geometry of the ssr. The Tempo has close to the same geometry as the Kilo TT in my size with a 74/73 degree SA/HA (57cm Kilo is 74/73.5), so it doesn't do much for me. |
