What size front ring is that? Does the pic make it look big? Or is it really huge. How do you get up hills with that? I bet you can really fly on the flatland.

since you obviously cant use the messenger bag anymore, you should trade it in for a back massager powered by a dyno hub

looks pretty intense,
i, however, never plan on giving up my fixed gear for a recumbent of any type

Bahaha...Sorry I could never see my self riding a recumbent. https://youtube.com/watch?v=wRlPgcE3w7U
But they are doing tricks too...so you never know.
What does it feel like riding beside a flat bed truck? can you go under it?

60T up front ... I've done about 30 on a dead flat without wind. It's got a smaller ring behind that big one and hills aren't a problem.Originally Posted by SoreFeet

a couple of days ago in a&s there was speculation that recumbant was going to be "the new fixie".
sadly, i put my money on tandems.

Challenge and Barcchetta have some of the coolest recumbents. If I would had money I would probably waste it on a couple recumbents.

I think you're right about tandems. Down in New Orleans, we had one at our last alleycat and I have some friends who just welded one up instead of making a tall bike. Tandems could definitely become popular. Plus, as the tandem riders at our last alleycat demonstrated, they can do twice as many asinine tricks as a single rider.a couple of days ago in a&s there was speculation that recumbant was going to be "the new fixie".

To the OP, why'd you buy the recumbent? It would seem to have very different utility from a fixed. I'm a big fan of recumbents but I just can't see anyone weaving through traffic, locking their bike in front of shady bars and such. Also, what's with the strange padding on the seat? Is that stock? Again, great bike. Someday I'll ride a Lightning F-40 and I'll be so damn fast I wont care about being a Fred.

I hear that from everybody that buys a recumbent but only once have I actually seen a recumbent Not on the MUP trail. And that was a former roadie who now rides a trike recumbent because he got hit by a car on his bike and lost the use of his left arm. Originally Posted by Dr. Hellyes

When do you get the fairing?

I've seen a few on the road in Toronto. Every time I see one it makes me nervous as hell. Just the idea of being that low to the ground in traffic... I think it takes serious balls to ride one on the road.Originally Posted by bbattle
