I judge people all of the time and feel like a **** afterwards so I can't harp on the OP too much. that said, I agree with Jabba. I have a left side drive fixie and I wear a garmin forerunner 305. Is that complex simplicity? At the very least it is *****hatery. OP just needs to let the guy ride and rememeber that prior to his/her cycling colonic they had camelbaks and crap too.

its great riding so light that all you carry is the clothes you wear and the water you drink. especially when you get a puncture.

i'm trading my tarck bike for one of those hepa filtered bubble jobs
fixed has jumped the shark anyway

The OP shares his observation and gets his personal view shoved back down his throat.

That's because his view is reverse-snobbery elitism, and elitism needs to be shoved back down throats.

You can do better than that. Especially if people are taking up for your right to express your personal views.

i can do better but i'm tired of this thread.

Yeah it was an interesting thought. A reflection by the OP of his experience of being caught up in a hobby, buying more **** and needing all these things to feel fullfilled, then realising that it is unnecessary and freeing himself of them. Then later seeing someone who likes all the gadgets still.

I guess it was a profound thought, with no malice or judgement. Just his observation. I guess we can all learn from thoughts like this, do we really need that upgraded wheelset? Or that new carbon crank?

One last thought, it reminds me of something a standup comedian said (i forget who).

But he said that he prefers interests to hobbies, interests are fun and cheap, whereas hobbies always seem to require you needing loads of stuff, buying the latest and best stuff and generally being really expensive. His point was similar to this because to have fun riding, just ride!

well said^^

People don't like stopping because its bad to get your heart rate up and then let it drop down again.

I like this, I'm going to use it in my signature.
