I really want a bareknuckle fork, but I cant find one anywhere.

There's always room to upgrade.

For instance, you could upgrade to some real bars from those risers.

Ha. It begins.

Nice Rush Hour.

Will you please include a list of product upgrades to your bike? (I have a Rush Hour, too.)

I don't need drops and my flat bars dont work with this setup. They are perfect for me - expecially since they only cost me $10.

They arent Philly style, they come out wider than the stock drops btw.

Then upgrade to some $20 bars.

Absolutely never.

Spots where there is room to upgrade:
wheels
bars
frame

I've heard you can get a bareknuckle fork with the frame. Both would be a pretty good upgrade.

Is the Lycra preventing you from getting your head out of your @$$?

He's telling you the truth man. I'm sure you love your bike, but there's definitely room to upgrade there. Hell, there's always room to upgrade.

sounds like you're more into aesthetic upgrades as opposed to performance upgrades.

So the only way to successfully "upgrade" a bike is to completely replace everything including the frame with the highest end components possible regardless of budgetary concerns?

Yeah, if I had bars like that, I wouldn't bother with clipless either.

peabodypride 05-27-08 12:27 PM

There comes a point where further upgrading hits a glass ceiling and it's just a pissing match to see who can bling out their ride the most.

That's kind of a reactionary response. And since when is a BK frame the highest end component possible?

Like I said, I'm sure you love your bike and more power to you. But there's still plenty of room to upgrade. Hell, you just said yourself that you have a $10 set of risers on there.

I'm sure that deep v's are pretty far below said glass ceiling though.

The bike is more functional then pretty - but thanks for the compliment.
Clips have served me very well for 20 years.
Proprietary shoes suck.

Have you actually tried them? Assuming you get a decent pair of shoes, it really isn't that big of a deal. I walk around the grocery store in my MT40's all day long. I've even worn them at work for 9 hours and I hardly ever get to sit down.

FWIW, I used to agree with you on clipless shoes until I actually went balls out and tried them.

I wasn't giving you a compliment. Your bike looks like a hybrid.

You can always get better tires - the Conti Ultras are lackluster. Otherwise, great looking rig.
