who listens to music when they are riding and what type of mp3 player are you using? I am looking to get something small like an iPod Shuffle but don't know if i'd want bigger just for riding to work and such.

I don't use headphones when i ride, but I do have a shuffle and it is great. Mine is 1g and can fit about 10 hours of music, so unless you have a REALLY long commute you should be ok with that.

I don't because it is extremely dangerous to ride with my iPod on, unless it is on a really low-key bike path or trail.

This song is the only one that's acceptable to listen to while riding a "fixie."

I've got a Creative Zen Vision M. It's great for watching videos while I'm riding. You know, because riding without listening to what's around you isn't dangerous enough.

Ugh, there are just about an infinite # of options that are far better than the Shuffle for the same price.

I'm not going to suggest further since if you've already been won over by their barrage of annoying ads, I can't help you.

but my computer for some reason sinc eits a custom built one i think doesn't like anything but iPods.
Jeeesus, do people really go this far with specious reasoning to convince themselves they need an Apple product?

depending on the route I would say listening to music while riding is dangerous, if you are just playing around in a parking lot that's fine, but in traffic no thanks, I will take the wind anytime

on sundays I like to put a small easel on my bars and paint the landscape as it goes cruising by

first of all no. And second of all you don't know how my computer works. For some reason wheni built it, the USB drivers don't work with many mp3 players. I've had success with one Sandisk and three iPods. I didn't have success with a sandisk clip just the other day. So i am going to stick with wha ti know works, an iPod.

So you've tested your theory out by trying...a Sandisk. Two Sandisks? And yet three iPods all worked? Must only like iPods, you're right.

I ride with a nano. I'm trying to stop using my car so much, and one of the hardest parts is giving up music for the trip, so I wear a helmet and one ear bud for semi busy traffic, and both buds for little to no traffic.

Night rides with soft versions of your favorite genres is the bees knees though (no helmet if you can find a safe area to cruise). Do be careful!

Just fix your USB driver. If it has problems with a flash MP3 player, it's not going to work with lots of other USB devices. Most flash MP3 players are recognized as exactly the same type of device as a USB drive.

My computer's USB card doesn't do iPods, but it works for mating with Sony products. So I guess that makes me a Sony sellout, right? Then again, I haven't exactly tried plugging every portable device into my computer. I guess I should spend a few weeks and hundreds of dollars on trial and error instead of going with what works--unless I want someone on an internet forum who knows nothing about how my computer works to tell me what brands I should and shouldn't be loyal to.
