Front Low, Rear Deep

Anyone rocking a wheelset with a low profile rim in the front and a high profile in the rear? I was thinking of doing a machined AeroHead in the front and a non-machined Deep V in the back and wanted to see how it looks. Anyone have any pics?

That's my set-up.

I'm picking up my rear V on Friday. I'll take some pictures for you later.

Had this set up for a while.. I like the look of the low profile fronts, and really love the ways that hi flanges and deep section rims look in the rear.

I actually have the opposite, a velocity vxc in the rear, and a fusion in the front, I needed a braking surface for the front and already had the rear wheel, but you cant really tell the difference as they are both silver.......the front skinny rear deep looks cool though, and functional as the rear needs to be stronger, right?

i've done that and the opposite. my deepV set is clincher--better for skiddy skippy stuff. my tubular set has araya gold's on it and feels great.....but it sometimes sucks carrying a spare tire and a patch kit as well... I think both look good but I slightly favor the fat backside to the fat front side.

I have a white non-machined Deep-V rear, Mavic Ksyrium SSC front.
Though I wonder if the Ksyriums are low-profile rims.

Take off the Weinmann stickers mang.

Awesome! Thanks for the photos guys. I really like how that looks. I wonder if the silver on the AeroHead is identical to the silver on the Deep V.

Your gonna be mocked by friends and foes alike.

this is pretty much what i plan on running in the future when i have a decent amount of disposable income for my beater bike. rear IRD cadence aero (like a deep V but 1/4lb lighter) and the fanciest used ksyrium front i can get! man i love those ksyrium wheels, i'm suprised no one else runs them up front. 660g front wheel for the win.

trainer tire in the rear... Looks great, but expensive looks when you have to buy a new one once a week. but that Nagasawa is HOT! Question 2 is how is that thing standing?

JBD 06-05-08 02:04 PM

balancing on it's toe cage most likely, well done, I imagine it must have been a pain to position it exactly like that and not have it roll and mess it all up.

I said the same thing for weeks. I run a Ellipse in the rear and a Kysyrium up front for the lightness and brake surface. i removed all the stickers so they match up nicely. These are tough wheels.
