LOL in the old days you would've been blasted out of here with ridicule. Now everyone is polite or they get banned... Ourys? NEVER HEARD OF THEM.

evoke0ne 06-05-08 08:52 PM

Well, I for one can say that they are some of the best grips I have tried. They...

1) dont leave as much visible residue as others...though i only ever get clear ones.
2) just the right amount of grip, but a little slippery when wet.
3) the grooves look large, but I have huge hands so they are the right size.
4) shape, meh.
5) Cost? They have some of the best value in my opinion, and they come in a range of colours.

Meh...you could say they are paying me, but I love them...and I sure as hell dont think everyone uses them because they are bad...though its kind of a trend.

I also heard that some other company that makes alot of "copy" parts, has the rights to produce them too..i hope this isnt starting a full on trend to bring back the 80s (i think thats when they first came out) ... The 80s didnt appear to be the best looking era.

Yes but in black only please, perhaps blue or other dark colors. Light ones get NASTY in a few days and eventually simple green doesn't work.

Also a DROP of triflow in the grip before install works the best. Dries in a half hour ftw.

very much an understatement. i feel this close from slipping and crashing my face into my stem when my hands are sweaty.

dddave 06-06-08 02:50 AM

i wear gloves.

na975 06-06-08 03:24 AM

i like mushroom bmx grips.

nerdbot5000 06-06-08 03:24 AM

Oury's hurt my hands. Far too thick, and the corners of those cut-out lines bug my hands. I'm using some specialized sidewinder grips, and I like those much better.

ODI Longnecks are better oury grips are sticky and gross
.

Primo are my favorite. Nice and large.

what i have on mine

FKMTB07 06-06-08 10:46 AM

Odyssey Aitken signatures on the bmx's and fixed gear (when I feel like going scenester-style with flat bars). They're like a classic mushroom grip but the thickness sort of tapers to fit your hand better. Mmm.

ODI Ruffian Lock-ons on the mountain bikes though. Mmm as well.

Ouries are alright, but even with gloves, I find them slippery when wet. They also get torn up on the ends too easy on the mtb's from hitting trees and crashing. I like a quill-type plastic/metal end plug like on ODI lock-ons or most bmx grips.

I have white ourys and they clean up nicely with soap and hot water. And I work a job where my hands get filthy and black everyday. I will wipe them down maybe once a month when they turn grimey - takes about 3 minutes.

K_phomma 06-06-08 11:15 PM

They suck when you eat a doughnut.
