Nose wheelies?

Has anyone heard of doing these on a fixed gear, or road bike of any sort? The one thing I miss about BMX is locking into a long nose wheelie, along with hop 3's. I'm thinking when I put some bullhorns on my bike it might be a bit more doable, but I feel like you might need to be a 6'4 ape on a 50cm bike for it to happen. Please someone tell me it's possible.

SkyeC 06-06-08 11:35 PM

uh... well yeah, it's possible.

why you are doing this, i don't know, but... ok.

bootleg session version 2 trailer.
ps. if you want to ride flatland, go back to BMX and ACTUALLY push yourself. Tricks on fixed gear bikes is for people who want to seem edgy and cool but cant balls up and actually push the limit on a bike that makes doing cool stuff possible.

or people who do it for the fun of it :p

oh and its obviously a tarck framez!

erichkopp 06-07-08 08:21 AM

I'm not a huge fan of tricks on a fixed gear, but nose wheelies can be fun to do while cruising down the street out of curb-cuts and things like that. Same idea as learning to bunnyhop so you can hop onto and over things when you're cruising around.

Looks like a Leader 720 to me.

no it's a nose manual... stoppies require brakes... and coming to a stop...

gascostalot 06-07-08 08:32 AM

Endo is coming to a stop

and a nose manual...isnt that for skateboards?

nathbdp 06-07-08 09:12 AM

I tried it once and went over the bars. I suck at tricks so I just like riding normally.

yeah but at least you didn't have the problem of not being able to get the rear wheel off the ground. Now you have to just learn to not do too much instead of "how do i do this"

Get out of the box much? Why limit yourself to one thing? If you can pull it off on a fixed, dont think they'd have a hard time pulling it off on a bmx. I don think it has any thing to do with lacking ballz, or trying to look edgy or cool. :saweeet:

Bike world is so full of double standards. It's okay to have a track bike and use it mostly to peddle around "the city streets" but the same track bikes never or hardly ever see the drome. :rolleyes:Get over it already. If people want to do tricks let them, If people want to ride track bikes on the streets with aero spokes or deep v's and rock spoke cards, let them. :notamused:

jdms mvp 06-07-08 11:01 AM

people who do tricks on a bike maybe want the best of both worlds.... one day u can trick up some empty lot somewhere, then the next take it on a 20 mile ride.... and then on the weekend take it to the drome...

having done all 3, i have no regrets.

yeah, might as well try and learn all the different aspects of track bike riding. you'll just have more fun with the diversity. kinda like knowing how to play many different genres of music on an instrument. it sucks when people get too stuck in their little group of bike riding, i.e. track racers who talk down to street riders, street riders who just think racers are jocks, etc. just do it all, make lots of friends!

cizzlak 06-07-08 02:39 PM

i think it is radical to do whatever you want. it just gets old when people ask on here "hey can i do tricks on this bianchi pista??" i dunno, can you use google? i think that is the basis for most of the ruffled feathers. *try* to help yourself first, is all. am i a dick or something?
