iro mark v cable stops

i love my mark v but hate the cable stops. any way of removing them without too much trouble?

you can try to file em' down.

I bet you could knock them off with a well placed blow from a maul. I, however, am not willing to test this theory on my frame.

File them down. It might take a little bit of effort but it'll work fine. You might want to cover the surrounding area with some old bar wrap or something similar so that you don't accidentally file any of your paint off if you happen to slip. If your frame's black, you can pretty easily rattlecan the filed down area if you don't want to keep it bare.

DON"T DO IT (if it's just for aesthetics). You may want to run it single speed one day and it keeps things easy

i had cable stops on mine for a year 'n a half before they finally bothered the hell out of me enough to chop 'em off. i got really sick of them digging into my shoulder every time i hoisted my bike up the stairs.

hacksaw and really coarse sandpaper will do the job just fine, but i'll take a little while. try to paint over it quick, though. i had big blank rust patches within a week of taking mine off.

Well...

I once had the Mark V Pro frame without the cable stops which IRO to doesn't seem to sell anymore and I sold mine because I'm REALLY stupid!

+1 for saving the frame and buying another frame...

if you're going to shave off the stops you might as well fill in that little brakehole too :D

Oh for gods sake, leave them be.
