To Cizzlak, theft is a secondary concern, the main concern is aesthetic.
To drainyoo. I hate wearing brandnames. I don't want to be someone's walking ad unless I'm paid for it. I certainly don't want to pay to be someone's walking advertisement. It is both aesthetically nicer and personally more satisfying to avoid branding. This next bit may come out sounding aggressive, but it's not meant that way: I don't particularly need you to understand, it's just something that I prefer. I don't expect you to feel the same way, or want to make you think the same, I just don't like branding. I don't own a single item of clothing (except for gym clothes) with branding, and I'd like to get my bike to be that way as well. Branding is more than just an advertisement. I can live with a small brand name logo I.E carhart or levi tag I won't tolerate stuff that covers half the garment like old navy crap Roy |
when you see me haulin' in my loud-ass hammer kit, rest assured I got it super cheap and that I'm riding too hard to give a f:)ck

i severely dislike over-the-top branding. Imagine if both sides of your car had big letters that said "HONDA" or whatever. OTOH, discreet, tasteful branding is fine.

Are you serious? Check out these ******-o-bikes in the road forum.
If you're not pro, and you're not sponsored why the **** would you ride some companies logo? Unless you really really liked their stuff? Well. Here is my take... These bikes will never even see a bike lock, or be left outside other than in the staging area at a triathlon. They come with big logos, they are expensive, the owners don't bother de-badging them because they don't need to in order to make it look incongeto. Plus, when you spend $4,000 on a bling road bike, you want everyone to know that it isn't some $2,000 POS ;) And, I am sure the owneres really, really, really like their stuff if they are dumping that kind of cash into bits that improve performance 0.001% :) |
Just run a sharpie over the Thomson branding, that should get rid of it.
