Track drops have exactly one good hand position... in the drops. Cutting them reduces that number to zero. I'm still not sure whether these or sub 40cm cut off flat bar/risers win the title of worst bar ever.
edit: although i do now see that you see "track drops" in your post, i believe i have older road drops |
What stem?!

Too bad this bar seems to really dislike my stem; it started to make funny noise, so I took it off immediately. Probably B105 is designed specifically for their Technomic or something.

When I put on my drop handle, this slit does not get covered by stem leaving it exposed. I think I was compressing the edges of this slit making it creek. If I use Technomic stem (25.4mm right?), this slit will be always covered unless you use very odd angle. Thanks goodness, I figure it out quickly. But too bad, I can't use that handle bar. I am back to a straight bar again. T |

Hello,
I have been trying out a new kind of choppers. Look at this one. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...i/KC280121.jpg I think this is still a chop and ... flop bar. Kinda ugly, but it seems to go between a drop bar and a straights/riser. My experimentation with drop bars didn't come out well and was back with my risers, but they are quite pain over long distance and suffer low leverage problem. (But they certain looks elegant!!) This flopped B123 seems to do well. T |
i like that. looks like it'd be good to cruise around on something like that.

I think it can look pretty cool. Like on this GT, for example:

What "new" hand position did you gain, exactly?
|
Hey,
Practically there was only one position on the riser bar. ... Kinda wish I can fit a drop bar because they got more position to play with, but I can't seem to get it to work. I tried several bullhorns but they require me leaning forward too much even with 50mm's. (I just got 35mm stem, but it looks ridiculous.) So its kinda compromise. Only wish is that this thing dropped down a little. No reach, super shallow drop. Hehe. Another thing, do you guys get wrist/hand problems when you hold your bars with your palms turned outward? I feel more at ease with hands turning inward like with this bar. Bar rests on my meaty part of my palms as opposed to the spot between thumb and your pointing finger. T |
