One inch threadless, 25.4 clamp diameter stem?

I'm building up a Soma rush and I have been having a very hard time finding a stem. I have a one inch threadless steerer tube and would like to run a classic nitto track bar with a 25.4mm clamp diameter. Can anyone hel?

your best bet would be ebay... get an old MTB stem or an old salsa one.

heh. i just looked at ebay and saw this. http://cgi.ebay.com/Leadtec-1-thread...QQcmdZViewItem

very nice IMO.

A 1 1/8" stem with a shim will work too.

only if the shim is from the same company.

Nitto makes shims for their bars so that they can be mounted on 26.0 stems. Check bens for them.

? Is this the same reason you can't use campy brakes with shimano shifters?

Correct. That Asian millimeter is significant different than an English one.

The Bianchi Pista comes with a 1" threadless stem. See if you can find one of those.

Strangely, I can fit both 26.0mm Nitto rb-21 and the 25.4mm b125 in my 26.0 clamp summit riser stem without shims. I too have a soma rush.

Most of the time, if you have a threadles stem, the stem clamps down all the way down to something like 25.0.

I've had 3 threaded stems before, that fit mtb's both road bikes, and all accepted a nitto track drop. I think you don't need a shim generally-- i would just try to fit it, if not, then spend extra to get the shim.

I'm going to self-promote here:

I'm selling a 1" threadless cinelli stem, it has a removable... well... stem. The stem itself halves (horizontally) by removing bolts. 120mm.

If you look on eBay, you will find Kelly 1" threadless stems. That's what I used on my Spicer (last year's model came with 1" threadless forks), and my only problem with it is its lack of a removable faceplate.
