Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Great first impressions/write up taxi777...

You guys are making me jealous with the taxi frames. I may be interested in your stock bar if you decide to part with it. I hope to someday make it to Colorado Springs and ride mine fixed on the Olympic training center velodrome

I think she's gonna look (and ride) quite nice...can't wait for all the bits and pieces to show up...

Wow Thats going to be an awesome machine. Kinda like Queen Latifas Hot Rod Taxi. Are you going to have a blower pop out some where? Since I took the picture of the green Seattle, I swapped out the seatpost and clamp for a silver aluminum one that came on my Novara Transfer. I couldnt tell if there was a weight difference but it matched the rest of the hardware on the bike. I found the Body Geometry seat in a bargain bin at Bicycle Village for $15.00. One came on my Sequoia and I love that seat. I have seen a Langster London in Denver on the cruiser ride. The guy rides it fixed with no brakes on the street. There is a large number of fixie riders here as well and there is even a bar on Colfax that on friday nights is a major fixie hangout. I want to show up on the Langster one friday and see how it goes. My biggest fear is having it stolen. There is also major bike theft going on in Denver. At least 2 a day get posted on CL.

You will find plenty of "haters" of this color scheme on this web site...personally, I'm tired of "Racing Red" or "blacked outed". I do like the Cannondale Capo in red and white which is what I was looking at before I got a hold of my "Taxi" on sale. It's a fun bike in every respect, from styling to it's ride.

I cant believe someone would hate it. Especially with all the Themed Cruisers that are out there, I love that specialized made the various schemes of the langster for people with different tastes. When I first saw the new Langsters, I went back and forth for about a month (While selling off a few other projects to raise the money for it) between the NY and Seattle. I finally decided on the Seattle because I really like fendered bikes, yeah I know it sounds wierd. But I love the taxi theme too. It would be geat to see several of them out being ridden together. Your bike is cool

Taxi777....

Do you still have the original straight bar from your New York? I have a Chicago that I am looking to put the stock NY bar on.
