Clicking in my bottom bracket.
well it started off as just a squeaking sound (really annoyed me) and eventually the squeaking disappeared for a bit and turned into an annoying clicking. I can feel the clicking feeling when i pedal..its not a horrible click but i can feel it. I'm almost sure i need a new BB...
thoughts feelings? thanks!:thumb: |
what type of bb is it? on my concord i had to replace the bb because it would become loose after putting a lot of weight on it, mine was the original bb and crank so we i switched it for a sealed bb and the problem was fixed
|
no clue, it came stock with my iro :x
|
it should be a decent sealed bb i would think, i would check your chainring bolts and also make sure your crank bolts are tightened down well...i brought my bike in last week to have things tightened and have the wheels checked and all that, if you have doubts, bring it to the bike shop...do you have one you visit on a regular basis?

IRO uses sealed square taper BB's which generally have a decent lifespan. If you bike is not old, and you don't have any side to side play in your crankarms its likely that you just need to remove, re-grease the threads, and reinstall.
To check for play in your BB, grab the crank-arms and torque side to side with both hands. If you feel play, you need a new BB. If you feel no play your BB is likey fine and your arms just don't produce enough torque to make the noise. good luck. |
It's your pedals. Take them out, grease up the threads, and screw them back in...tightly.
|
Or tighten your crank arms. I've seen a bunch of people strip out their crank arms because they were loose.
You should just tighten everything up. Makes sense, it's good cycle maintenance. |
thanks for the help. ill go try those out right now.
