NYC Bike Shops
I assume there are well stocked and interesting bike shops that specialize in fixed gear in NYC. I'm be there for next week, wondering opinions as any being worth a visit.

Continuum's not a boutique, but it does have a whole bunch of cool stuff to look at.
City Bicycles on W. 39th (between 8th and 9th, I think) is a cool shop. Bicycle Habitat on Lafayette's got a lot of stuff to look at too.

Bought my Surly at NYC Velo. Live near Affinity. IIRC, Affinity has a good selection of Bianchi.

Who? The guys at NYC Velo are great. I bought 2 bike from them. And Bike Works is awesome as well.
I do have to agree with the comment about Trackstar. I went in there once and I felt like I was bother them. It's manly the girl that works there. Even on the phone she makes it seem like you're wasting her time.

Just another not on Trackstar...
I called them up yesterday to see if they had Miche high flange hubs in 32h, I actually called a few times to double check. I was told that they do but the girl there. I went all the way into Manhattan to pick up the hubs and when I get there they only have a rear hub. They probably didn't even bother checking.

Who knows but when I go in there I feel so uncomfortable, the total opposite of when I go into NYC Velo or Bike Works. I'm not trying to bad mouth Trackstar, it's nice to have a shop like that around, but I just don't feel right in there. Maybe it's because I don't dress like a hipster.

I've never had a problem with Trackstar either. I think Trackstars problem might be that it's their friends are constantly hanging out there, which could put off some people.
